Greetings from Jeff Elman, Dean

In this issue of the e-Connection Newsletter we feature an interview with Dan Yankelovich. As Dan remarks, he is one of those people who have "flunked retirement." We are very happy for this! As a member of the UCSD Foundation Board and the Social Sciences Dean's Advisory Council, Dan has been a great friend to the campus and to the Division of Social Sciences.

Dan has also been an inspirational figure for our division. Click to Continue

Support for Psychology Students
The UC San Diego Department of Psychology recently received an $80,000 gift from Distinguished Professor Emeritus Norman Anderson to establish the Norman Henry Anderson Travel and Fellowship Fund. The fund will support undergraduate or graduate psychology student travel to present a research paper at a scientific meeting.

"Dr. Anderson's extraordinary generosity and dedication to supporting excellence in research and teaching in psychology cannot be overstated," said John Wixted, department chair. "His support reaches to faculty, graduate and undergraduate student populations to encourage collaboration and exploration that otherwise would not be possible."
